If you know that you want to have a hot tub that can fit 4 adults then you usually have to go for a 6 person size and this is the same. You will fit 6 in a squeeze as there are dedicated seat spaces it seems to be the leg tangle that causes issues.
The inner shell of the XP34 is made from a durable slip resistant lucite acrylic, which has multiple layers of fibre glass for reinforcement. The surrounding cabinetry is made from a heat-retaining synthetic material and the whole unit has high density foam insulation. All of this is to give you a high quality build which is designed to hold in the heat and give you one of the best portable hot tubs for winter. The size of the hot tub is 80 x 80 x 34 inches and will need a dedicated outlet to plug into.
The Hudson Bay Spa XP34 has moulded inner shell that has 6 seats, 2 of which are turbo seats for maximum jet action. One seat has a headrest and there are different quantities of jets in some of the seats so you can sit where you feel the most comfortable. It’s suggested that you place your hot tub on a surface that can drain water so that it doesn’t sit in a puddle and some people build a platform to place it on.
Once you have your hot tub in place, make sure you can access the motor because if you have any issues you will need to get into it and it will be impossible to move once it’s full of water. Fill the tub up with water with a garden hose and it’s suggested you remove the filter and place it in the tub to get wet and place the hose in the filter housing so it fills through there. This is to push any air out of the pipes. Replace the filter and you’re ready to plug in and set the heat. All the details are in the manual.
You’re Hudson Bay hot tub comes with a thick cover which you will need to set on top of the tub while it’s heating. This not only protects your tub from getting any debris in it but it is padded to give more insulation which keeps the heat where it needs to be, in the water.
Before you start enjoying the benefits of your spa you will need to add some chemical to the water to keep it clean and safe. Water maintenance is a standard requirement in all pools and hot tubs and you can buy maintenance kits from Amazon.com or any pool supplier. The pool comes with an ozonator installed which kicks in whenever the jets are working, this also helps to keep the water clear.
The control panel is on top of the XP34 and there are only a few buttons so nothing complicated to learn. You have the temperature control which defaults to 100F but can go as high as 104F or lower to suit what you prefer. There is also a button for the jets which will run for 20 minutes then will automatically switch off. If you press the button once you will get medium strength water jets and a second push will give you full strength water jets. You also have a button for the lights, you have perimeter lights around the top of the unit and a light below the surface and pressing this button will go through the different colors you can choose. Just stop pressing when it gets to the color you like.
There are 34 jets installed in this hot tub enough to give you very relaxing experience.
Once you’re up and running with your portable hot tub you don’t have to worry about the heater it will just come on automatically when the heat drops a few degrees from your chosen temperature and this is why it makes a good all year round hot tub because it’s durable and keeps the temperature stable automatically.
There aren’t too many reviews on this hot tub but the ones there are have been very positive. They have found the pump to be very powerful giving good strong water flow out of the jets. They have found that it keeps the heat well and that it is comfortable even for larger people.
The only negatives found were that they felt it could use another couple of neck pillows and that it doesn’t give information about which spare filters to buy so you will need to find a filter supplier.
If you’re looking for a larger hot tub that is easy to setup but can be taken with you to another home then this Hudson Bay Spa XP34 6 Person 34 Outdoor Spa with Stainless Jets is a good option to choose. It’s a larger financial outlay than an inflatable hot tub but it is sturdier and will probably last much longer and more importantly you won’t have to bring it inside when the weather turns cold.
